Hey Rosetta!

In Fredericton, NB.

People both young and old crammed into the Boyce Farmers Market this Saturday to join in on the fun that was Hey Rosetta! The building made for a perfect compliment to this down to earth, Newfoundland based band, and the people clearly enjoyed the atmosphere. They played songs from both their new album Seeds, as well as classics from their previous albums. Seeds, has now been shortlisted for the famous Polaris Music Prize, and the band has since been touring worldwide to promote it. Fredericton could not have been happier to be one of the chosen cities.

During the performance the band threw both a string and sparklers into the audience. With the string being passed throughout the space, it really made it seem like everyone was somehow connected to the performance and the band members on stage. Even though people got a little tangled after about five minutes, the participation was there and left nothing but good feelings with every knot.

With smoke machines and a well put together light show, the atmosphere was nothing short of mind-blowing. To top it off, confetti was shot through the building as their last song came to an end. This of course sent a frenzy through the crowd, leaving everyone only wanting more.

Spring Time!

Happy first day of Spring!
I don't think we could have asked for a better day to start off the new season! I live on campus and I don't think there was a person left inside the buildings. People were packing in the quad throwing around frisbees, footballs and really anything they could get their hands on. Today was also the first day I was able to go outside without a jacket! It was definitely a perfect example of typical Canadian weather. We go from being in the middle of a snow storm no less then 3 days ago, to summer weather with people wearing shorts and dresses. It's crazy!

Canada is also probably one of the only places where you can comfortably wear a dress while still walking over snow. As you can see in the first picture, my friend Jenn is soaking up the sun as she does her homework, and then 5 minutes later (more like a couple hours haha) she is walking over all this snow we still have. It makes for an interesting transition period between the seasons though! Oh well, bottom line: the weather was beautiful today. A definite promise for a good summer ahead :)

p.s. I'm not totally convinced the snow storms are over. They've still got something brewing up there...I can feel it!

Mr. Bee's Tip of the Day

SOOO I had a quite the epiphany the other day while I was admiring my new Essie nail polish color "Turquoise & Caicos". I was thinking, "wow, this color lasted way longer then the "Go Overboard" one I bought the other day", but then I realized why. It was because when I put on the "Go Overboard" color, I showered later that day. From showering, the steam/soap/washing of the hair caused the nail polish to chip and wear thin. Now, I'm sure many of you have already realized this, but for those who were wondering, it's true. You SHOULD wait until AFTER you shower to paint your nails if you're expecting to get the longest life out of your product.

Spring Break

It's Spring Break! For some it's a time to get caught up on schoolwork, sleep and home-cooked meals, but for others (like myself) they take this opportunity to do a little bit of traveling. Now, the collage below isn't exactly based off of my plans, but that doesn't mean they will be any less fun! I also picked these pictures more or less because I thought they were pretty.

So, for MY March Break my best friends and I took a little road trip to each other's hometowns! It was tons of fun full of drinking, shopping and sight seeing. Starting with the train in Moncton, NB we (Jenn and I) rode into Halifax, NS to meet our friend Megan and hit the casino.

Megan was the lucky one of the night and won over $300 just on the slot machines! Wha??? We were very proud of her, so proud in fact that we later decided to put the money in the hotel bathtub and roll around in it. It was very satisfying.

We did a little bit of shopping the next day on Spring Garden. Our favourite store was The Black Market. There are so many awesome things in there with crazy patterns, every type of jewelry, handmade clothes and bags and bohemian decor. Needless to say, we spent a good portion of our money here.

The next day we were off to Halls Harbor, located in the valley of NS. Here we stayed at Megan's house. Later we discovered all of the cool knick knacks that made up the contents of her house, soooo of course we seized the opportunity to have a little photo shoot. These were only a portion of the results:

Next we were off to Bridgetown, NS (my hometown) and through to Sussex, NB. In Sussex we met up with tons of friends from school who were doing pretty much the same thing we were. We all went out to The Thirsty Mule (a fitting name) and drank until the wee hours of the morning. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of any of these cool things, HOWEVER I did get some random ones of the McDonalds, a pretty window seat and nail polish. A good second place if you ask me.

Thus ended our epic journey around the Maritimes.
The end.

Essie Nail Polish

With the great success of my last Essie purchase of "glamour purse", I found myself quite excited to try another one. This time I had a bit more trouble deciding between all the different colors. I eventually narrowed it down to two. "Go Overboard", a nautical blue,  and "Licorice", a clean black. As you may see, I chose to give into spring with the nautical choice.

To be completely honest however, I am not as impressed with this color as I was with the last one. I found this time my nails started chipping the next day. Mind you, this may be because I have been somewhat busy and  just wearing them down...but still, I want to get my moneys worth!
